Year 6

Croeso i Blwyddyn 6! Mrs Cumberlidge and Mrs Hughes welcome you to Year 6.

‘Believe you can and you’re halfway there’ ~ Theodore Roosevelt

Mrs Cumberlidge welcomes you to Year 6.

Our PE day is a Wednesday.

Spelling and Times Table tests will be on a Monday.

The children will be taking it in turns when reading the class reading book to gain confidence in reading aloud to an audience.

Reading books ~ We understand the importance of your child engaging with the home school reading we provide. We will read with your child on a regular basis and comment in their reading diary. Please make sure they bring their reading bag/folder into school everyday.

Pupils who are reading Read Write Inc. books, we ask that these books are returned on a Friday so that we are able to read with your child and progress them to the next book.

Reading with your child is an important aspect of their development, along with asking them about the book to gain understanding. We ask, as a school, that parents read at least once or twice a week with their children to promote a positive attitude to reading.

Communication ~ Clear communications with our Abermorddu families is of great importance. Class teachers will be using SeeSaw to communicate with parents. Therefore, please check your notifications on a daily basis. All main school information will continue to be sent via the main school office via email.

Apps ~ We encourage the use of the following apps at home. Your child will be given login details by us for Doodle Maths, Hwb and Oxford Owl.

Thank you

Mrs Cumberlidge
