Absence Reporting & Holidays
Sickness/Absence Reporting (unplanned)
If your child is unwell or unable to attend school (unplanned absence)
You must notify the school of the reason for the absence on the first day of an unplanned absence as soon as practically possible by contacting the school office.

Call 01978 760647 A message can be left if the phone is unanswered or engaged.

Medical/Dental Appointments (planned)
Attending a medical or dental appointment will be counted as authorised as long as you notify the school in advance of the appointment. You should complete a ‘absence request form’ to request planned absence. A link to this form can be found below.

Holidays & Other Leave (planned)
In total there are 175 non-school days a year. This gives families the opportunity to:
-
Spend time together
-
Go on family visits and days out
-
Go on holiday
-
Go shopping
-
Attend routine appointments
Pupils are not granted leave of absence unless there are exceptional circumstances (e.g. funeral, or a family wedding). Any such absences are at the discretion of the Headteacher.
Taking a holiday during term time, seriously affects your child’s attendance and in turn their attainment. If an unauthorised holiday is taken, this may result in a Fixed Penalty Notice being served. Attendance should be a priority. If there are any problems please contact school immediately.
