Year 1

Welcome to Year 1!

Croeso i Blwyddyn 1! Mrs Berry and Mrs Hughes welcome you to Year 1.

'The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you' ~ B.B King

Our topic this term is Journeys.

Class Information

Reading Books ~ We will send home reading books every Thursday and we kindly ask that they are returned every Tuesday.

Homework ~ Homework will be set via Seesaw at the beginning of each term. Homework will appear as a grid of six activities linked to our class topic, we ask that you encourage your child to complete at least three homework activities by half-term. Please upload your child’s homework to Seesaw so that we can provide feedback.

PE ~ PE this year will be on a Monday every week. We kindly ask that your child must come to school already wearing their school PE kit. We recommend that your child wears jogging bottoms/leggings due to PE sessions being held outdoors only due to Covid-19.

Snack and Water bottles ~  We provide your child with a healthy snack and a drink of milk daily. Water bottles must be brought to school on a daily basis. Please note, the bigger the water bottle the better or simply provide your child with two bottles of water as it is vitally important that they drink enough during the school day.

Communication ~ Clear communication with our Abermorddu school families is of great importance, particularly with not being able to collect your child in the ‘normal’ way by the class door. With this is mind, due to the huge success of Seesaw during lockdown we feel that this method of communication will be the best and safest way to communicate any specific messages between class teachers and parents. Therefore, please check your notifications on a daily basis. All main school information will continue to be sent from the main school office via email.

Please don't hesistate to get in touch.
