Mr Williams - Junior Lead and Year 5 Class Teacher

Hello, I’m Mr Williams and I’m the Key Stage 2 lead and year 5 class teacher. I came to Abermorddu in my second placement as a PGCE student and was fortunate enough to gain a teacher post the following academic year. Since joining the school I have taught in year 3 for 5 years and have been the Key Stage 2 Lead for the last 2 years.  I am also the ICT, DCF and PE coordinator along with the football, cricket, NFL, and cross country coach. I am now excited to teach in year 5 and look forward to the year ahead.

My teaching ethos is based around two quotes. The first is "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world" ~ Nelson Mandela. I strongly believe that an educated mind has the power to do and change anything they want. The other is, “Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” ~ Albert Einstein. In my class we will be learning in different ways as everyone learns in different ways, some pupils work well with writing, other work well practically.

Technology and sport is a passion of mine and I really like teaching pupils about these and using them in my lessons.

My hobbies outside of school are attending the gym and playing rugby. I also enjoy playing football and skiing with my family. I am married and have a a beautfiul little girl who has just started school, so I am really enjoying spending lots of family time with them and doing new things on the weekend and in the holidays.
