Mrs Roberts, Miss Heather and Miss Parry-Williams welcome you to Reception!
‘Believe you can and you’re halfway there’ ~ Theodore Roosevelt
Our topic this term is ‘Marvellous me’ which we are very much looking forward to!
The topic will be supported by a range of fiction and non-fiction books. Below are some of the lovely books we will be reading this term…
Reading Books ~ We will send home reading books every Friday this year and we kindly ask that they are returned every Monday morning.
Homework ~ Homework will be set via Seesaw at the beginning of each term. Homework will appear as a grid of six activities linked to our class topic, we ask that you encourage your child to complete at least three homework activities by October half-term. Please upload your child’s homework to Seesaw so that we can provide feedback.
PE ~ PE this year will be on a Tuesday every week. We kindly ask that your child must come to school already wearing their school PE kit. We recommend that your child wears jogging bottoms/leggings due to PE sessions being held outdoors only due to Covid-19.
Snack and Water bottles ~ Your child will need a HEALTHY snack everyday, a piece of fruit is ideal. Your child will continue to have the option of a drink of milk provided by school or a drink from their water bottle. Water bottles must be brought to school on a daily basis. Please note, the bigger the water bottle the better or simply provide your child with two bottles of water as it is vitally important that they drink enough during the school day.
Communication ~ Clear communication with our Abermorddu school families is of great importance, particularly with not being able to collect your child in the ‘normal’ way by the class door. With this is mind, due to the huge success of Seesaw during lockdown we feel that this method of communication will be the best and safest way to communicate any specific messages between class teachers and parents. Therefore, please check your notifications on a daily basis. All main school information will continue to be sent from the main school office via email.
If you have any questions at all please ask.
