ABOUT KS2When your child enters Year 5, they will begin learning the Key Stage 2 curriculum. Compulsory national curriculum subjects at primary school include English, Maths, Science, Design and Technology, History, Geography, Art and Design, Music, PE, Swimming, ICT and Welsh.

HOMEWORKLearning Log Homework is sent home with your child every Friday to be returned the following Tuesday.
Mymaths is set every Friday and due by the following Thursday. Reading books and diaries are to be returned on both Monday and Tuesdays. SPELLINGS AND TIMES TABLESWeekly spelling and times tables tests are held throughout KS2. Words and times tables will be sent home with your child every Friday.
P.E.As with any other subject in school, P.E. is a mandatory subject. Please can you make sure that your child has the correct P.E. kit (white t-shirt, black shorts and trainers/pumps). Year 5 have P.E. every Thursday afternoon.

SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
Here are some useful ways you can help support your child's development and learning at home.
- Listen to your child read regularly and add a comment to the Reading Record.
- Read to your child as often as you can.
- Help your child to learn and retain spellings.
- Support your child to learn and remember times tables.
- Encourage your child to add, subtract, divide and multiply in an every day setting, such as in the supermarket.
